A Summer Wedding Filled with Colour, Scent and Seasonal Flowers

There is something magical about a summer wedding. The longer days, warmer evenings and abundance of seasonal blooms create endless possibilities for beautiful floral design.

When Emma and James first contacted POP Florist, they knew they wanted flowers that felt natural, joyful and reflective of the season. Rather than a formal, highly structured look, they were drawn to soft textures, garden-inspired arrangements and a colour palette that complemented their countryside venue.

Understanding the Couple's Vision

Every wedding begins with a conversation.

For Emma and James, the flowers needed to feel elegant without being overly traditional. They wanted their guests to feel immersed in the setting, with floral designs that enhanced the venue rather than overwhelmed it.

Together, we explored colours, favourite flowers and the overall atmosphere they hoped to create. Soft peach, blush pink, ivory and delicate apricot tones formed the foundation of the design, complemented by fresh seasonal greenery and subtle hints of lavender blue.

Celebrating Seasonal Flowers

One of the greatest advantages of a summer wedding is the incredible variety of flowers available.

For this wedding, we selected a collection of seasonal blooms including:

  • Garden roses

  • Sweet peas

  • Cosmos

  • Scabious

  • Delphiniums

  • Ammi

  • Seasonal foliage

The result was a collection of arrangements full of movement, fragrance and natural beauty.

Bridal Flowers

The bridal bouquet became the centrepiece of the floral story.

Designed with layers of soft seasonal flowers and delicate textures, the bouquet reflected the relaxed elegance Emma wanted for her day. Bridesmaids carried smaller versions that complemented the bridal design while maintaining their own individuality.

Buttonholes and corsages echoed the same colour palette, ensuring every floral detail felt connected.

Flowers Throughout the Venue

The ceremony space was enhanced with meadow-style arrangements that framed the couple as they exchanged their vows.

After the ceremony, these designs were carefully repositioned within the reception space, allowing the flowers to be enjoyed throughout the day.

Tables featured low, natural arrangements designed to encourage conversation while creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Bud vases and scattered seasonal blooms added further layers of colour and texture.

The Beauty of Working with Seasonal Flowers

Choosing flowers that are naturally at their best during the season often creates the most beautiful results.

Seasonal blooms offer exceptional colour, fragrance and character while allowing designs to feel authentic and connected to the time of year.

For summer weddings, they provide endless opportunities for creating floral designs that feel both timeless and personal.
